Lookslikefilm England Meet-up | Blea Tarn | The Lake District

Earlier this week around 70 photographers headed to Ambleside in the Lake District for a meet up. The meet-up included photographers from around the country who are all part of the Lookslikefilm community. A community set up by Lukas Piatek that focuses on collaboration and not competition. Something I've been so lucky to be a part of, with a local group of photographers, since I first set up my business.

To find another community that links photographers all around the world with the same sort of ethos is amazing. Now getting a group from all over the world together would be amazing, but a huge task, so Chris Parkinson of Beneath The Pines Photography and Amy-Leigh Atkins set about organising this meet-up for members of the Lookslikefilm England Facebook group. Although, it was set up like a mini-work shop as the likes of Lukas, Liam Rimmington, Matt & SJ Ethan, Haydn Rydings and Amy Faith shared some tips and secrets on how they shoot.

So, firstly, I'd just like to thank these guys so much for sharing some valuable tips. Talking to people afterwards, I can safely say that I think we all took a lot away from each session. Although it was just a couple of days, I've got memories that will last a lifetime thanks to this. It really shows what an awesome community we are part of as well as how much talent there is in the UK!

Thank you to the guys modelling - all of which photographers that put down their cameras for the rest of us to learn! Agnes Black, Ingrid & Alex as well as Matt & SJ!  A huge thank you to Chris and Amy for organising such an awesome meet-up! I had a blast, and made some awesome new friends and it is all down to you two!

Thank you to Emma Beaumont for supplying the dresses for Agnes and Lily Rose Floral Design for the flowers

When I first started my business I was told by so many that the North East is toxic between wedding photographers however I had the best of times with Natalie Pluck, Katie Byram, Matt & SJ Ethan, Helen Russell and Daniel Armitage. It just proves how wrong those people were and how strong our connection is to be able to work together and enjoy each others company. I'm so thankful to have these guys in my life!

Anyway, I'll stop yapping on so you can enjoy some of the shots from the few days I spent in the Lakes...
