Yorkshire Wedding Photography

So earlier this year I ended up as second photographer to the fantastic Helen Russell! This was huge for me, to be asked to help shoot such an amazing venue as Duncombe Park. Duncombe is in Helmsley, North Yorkshire and the place is bloody huge! I guess that's one of the best things about being a Durham Wedding Photographer... Beautiful venues like this are so close and make fantastic settings for weddings.

I have to be honest, this place almost destroyed me because of the size. I would love to do it again though!  The secret garden would make a lovely little setting by it's self! You'll get to see that a bit later though.

On the morning of this wedding, I was so nervous. The weather was gloomy, I was seconding for an amazing photographer, and shooting such a glorious venue; All the coffee in the world couldn't help!

Duncombe Park Weddings

The ceremony was held at a lovely little church in the village of Helmsley, just up from the Black Horse pub (where I met the Groom and guests). You could feel the love during ceremony between Rachel and Marcus, and the military touch following the ceremony was such a fantastic personal touch to the couple and their background.

I absolutely loved working with Helen, the staff at Duncombe Park were amazing, Rachel, Marcus and their friends/family really made me feel welcome. I'd like to thank all of the people mentioned for letting me be part of such a fantastic wedding. It was such an experience to be part of this and I really hope that I get to shoot here again... whether I'm seconding or shooting for myself. I loved every moment of this day. I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I do!

Creative Weddings

Lighting makes all the difference for photography; thankfully weather does not have to dictate this, however on this day, the sun came out and created some amazing light for us. I always try and be creative as possible, and working with Helen certainly pushed me to produce some beautiful images.
