Greg got in touch in January asking me to photograph his wedding day and honestly I couldn't have been happier that he asked. Greg has been a friend for what must be coming up to 10 years nearly. He's an amazing guy and to have the pleasure of shooting his wedding to the equally amazing Ruth was great.

A very good and extremely talented friend, Natalie Pluck, recommended me to her friends Chloe & Nathan for their big day. It's a bit daunting when one of your favourite photographers is a bridesmaid at a wedding. You want to make sure that you absolutely nail it and make them proud on top of wanting to make sure your couple are happy!

Jenna & Sam got in touch around June last year to see if I was free to shoot their wedding. I'm so glad I was because a winter wedding at the amazing Healey Barn was absolutely fantastic. Healey just looks great in all seasons, and gave a perfect excuse to get some sparkler shots with the short days.
Horton Grange is a fantastic venue in Northumberland, near Newcastle. It mixes the modern with traditional while giving scope to really turn your day into anything you want it to be. To be honest, it wouldn't look out of place being decorated for a more rustic or art deco type wedding. Horton Grange really does make a fab venue, both for couples and wedding photography.
Quirky and me go together like whiskey and coke! What an insanely beautiful day in quite possibly my favourite city in the whole of the UK! York is so picturesque and there are so many lovely locations around the city. I could ask for a better setting for wedding photography anywhere in the UK!
Around this time last year I had started to plan a styled wedding shoot. I knew I wanted to incorporate Healey Barn in to the style and use what Healey gave me in order to create a luxurious feel to the shoot. Styling, however, was something I couldn't quite bring together myself to work with such a beautiful venue, so from here I got in touch with the lovely Sophie Clarke, an ex-wedding stylist from the Teeside area.
One of the greatest things about being a North East Wedding Photographer is that I have beautiful venue's like Crook Hall, Durham right on my door step. I've been a second shooter here before, and I absolutely love it. You can pretty much guess I was over the moon when Sam and Ruth told me their ceremony and drinks reception would be here!
At the beginning of the wedding season, Healey Barn made me on of their top recommended photographers so it was an absolute pleasure to work alongside Leanne. Leanne and her team are fantastic and really put every effort into making sure your wedding at Healey Barn goes as planned! It's always a pleasure to be a wedding photographer in Newcastle as there are so many beautiful venues, and Healey Barn sure is one of them!
Jane & Nev are two amazing people. From the second I met them, I knew I was in for a treat with their 1920's art deco themed wedding. At The Grand Hotel, North Tyneside too... Perfect setting for such a theme and being right next to the coast; well... the beach is ALWAYS a perfect location! Newcastle has some gems for weddings, and this is certainly one of them!
Clare & John first booked my last July after being referred by The Twins. They booked without meeting me; that took me by surprise however I quickly realised that people are sometimes too busy, and in July.. Well I was also busy! I will always make time for current and potential couples to meet and discuss their plans, however in wedding season it can be tricky. It can be done though!
I've been talking to the lovely Rhiannon of Once Upon A Time Make Up Artistry and Michelle Callan for some time now about collaborating on a shoot.
Yorkshire Wedding Photography
So earlier this year I ended up as second photographer to the fantastic Helen Russell! This was huge for me, to be asked to help shoot such an amazing venue as Duncombe Park. Duncombe is in Helmsley, North Yorkshire and the place is bloody huge! I guess that's one of the best things about being a Durham Wedding Photographer... Beautiful venues like this are so close and make fantastic settings weddings.
A Beautiful Durham Wedding
Harriet first got in touch earlier this year to say they wanted to book me for August... Initially I thought they were talking about 2015, how wrong I was. Harriet and John wanted an informal day with friends and family, and had decided to get married as soon as possible. We met for a coffee in Durham to discuss their Wedding Photography and it was very apparent straight away that they were very organised and extremely calm. I could also see how much they cared for and loved each other, so I knew it was going to be a very special day.
Being a wedding photographer in Newcastle and the surrounding area's means we get to shoot in some amazingly quirky venues. As You Like It in Jesmond, Newcastle, certainly doesn't disappoint.
Being a wedding photographer around Newcastle means that I get to meet some lovely people and shoot in some fantastic places. This was no different.
So back to Durham Castle it is for Francesca and Niall's fantastic day after shooting their engagement shoot here back in May. I'd been excited about this wedding since the day Francesca and Niall booked me.

Whilst hovering around the wedding scene for the last four years, I've had a lot go on in my life. From my daughter being born, to getting engaged my self, and various other things; things have been quite hectic! I've been up and down thinking about whether or not I should pursue a career in photography. Why? It's a big decision, a decision that could backfire drastically.
